Flex-a-Seal, Inc. is a privately held company started in 1983. It was started in Ormand Beach, Florida primarily as a welded metal bellows mechanical seal manufacturer with only 3 employees and small customer base scattered throughout the United States. The company moved to Vermont in June of 1984. Originally located in a small rented space in Williston, Flex-A-Seal bought a building in Colchester in 1986 and purchased its current location in Essex Junction in 1992.

In the 20 years since its inception, Flex-A-Seal has evolved in a number of directions. We are a fully integrated seal manufacturer that conceptualizes, designs, manufactures, markets, sells, services and repairs our complete line of mechanical seals and related devices worldwide. The extent of our capabilities is demonstrated on the website and includes component pusher seals, component welded bellows seals, rubber bellows seals, cartridge seals for virtually any application, a patented split cartridge seal, high pressure seals, high temperature seals, cryogenic seals, high speed seals, stationary seals, large diameter seals, slurry seals, exotic metal seals, mixer seals, reactor seals, centrifuge seals, etc. We design our seals to work within prominent markets such as: pulp and paper, hydrocarbon processing, chemical processing, food processing, drug manufacturing, wastewater, potable water, marine, pipeline, etc.

Seal Repair - We pride ourselves on being able to repair or replace our own or competitor seals more quickly and economically than our competitors. Because of our superior engineering capabilities, we welcome the challenge of difficult and unusual seals. We guarantee quick turnaround, providing the customer with a seal that will work as well as or better than the original.

Hermetic Bellows Devices - Flex-A-Seal has manufactured the highest quality welded bellows for mechanical sealing applications for over 20 years; the step into hermetic bellows vacuum, semiconductor, pharmaceutical, cryogenics and hazardous material handling applications was a logical and strategic move. Our engineering staff is able to quickly propose economical solutions to these often unusual and difficult applications. We pride ourselves on being able to deliver these intricate devices more quickly and economically than anyone else in the business.

Problem Solving Packings - As a seal manufacturer, we are often asked to solve packing problems. Because the technology to solve these problems is similar and simpler than our mechanical seals; it is an obvious fit. Products such as our Flex-A-Pak injectable packing and braided solutions help us resolve difficult packing applications.

 

 

Flex-A-Gard - Three important superior qualities we afford primarily to the wastewater market are corrosion resistance, product strength, and the lighter weight of these products. By hand casting polyurethane around metal skeletons, Flex-A-Gard has designed chain, grit buckets, check valve balls, bar screen rakes, rail, sprockets and unusual engineered designs providing a high strength, corrosion resistant, light weight solution to many difficult applications.

The Flex-A-Gard product has been applied principally to the wastewater industry, but is applicable to DAF (dissolved air flotation) and API units in industrial applications.

Currently, Flex-A-Seal conducts business in 40+ countries. Flex-A-Seal Do Brasil is a joint venture in manufacturing, repairing, marketing, selling and servicing the same full line of products as we do in the U.S.A. Our bellows welding capabilities are unique to Brazil. The international portion of Flex-A-Seal's business continues to grow substantially.

Besides our joint venture in Brazil, we have sales and marketing arms in Australia, Europe, South America, Canada, and the Far East.
